RX for a Healthy Organization©

A healthy organization is one which:

  • directs its activities towards a well defined and communicated purposes;
  • establishes and develops the skill sets required of the personnel;
  • continually enhances methods to attract and keep the right personnel;
  • develops systems to fairly monitor and hold accountable the behaviours within the organization;
  • respects conflict and uses the energy to develop the organization;
  • provides vehicles to enforce the organization’s desire to listen and learn;
  • leadership focuses on maintaining the integrity of its internal “open systems”, its growth, and its prosperity.

In order to determine the health of the organization, we focus on the following key measurements:

  • Planning                       Does this organization believe this is going on?
  • Leadership                   Does the organization positively affect both morale and performance?
  • Structure                      Do the employees know what to do?
  • Rewards                      Does the organization motivate the people?
  • Supervision                  Do the employees believe in the supervisors?
  • Communication            Is the organizational message clear and accepted?
  • Problem Solving           Are problems resolved in a timely manner?
  • Job Satisfaction            Does the organization provide a sense of accomplishment?
  • Productivity                  Is there organizational improvement?
  • Time Management        Does the organization put value on time utilization?
  • Stress Management      Does the organization learn from its mistakes?
  • Conflict Management    Does the organization use conflict as creative energy?
  • Financial Management   Does the organization focus on financial growth and stability?

Based on these key measurements:

  • we provide the tools required to determine the health of the organization
  • the information is provided in an effective, relevant, visual method
  • once the "health" is determined, the appropriate insights are provided to promote good "health"
  • below are two examples of how all the information is tied together in a meaningful way.

It is a teaching experience that focuses not on good or bad but on developing leadership skills.
